Extended Western Rail Corridor “Could Progress Quickly” If Given Green Light

Hope is being expressed that an extension to the Western Rail Corridor will progress quickly – if it’s given the green light.

A public consultation is currently being carried out on a proposal to extend the Ennis-Galway line from Athenry to Tuam and then Tuam to Claremorris.

The findings of the study will then be submitted to the Department of Transport, which will make a final decision on whether it’s a viable option.
