Clare NBRU Member Concerned Rural Clare May Lose Bus Éireann Services

A Clare member of the National Bus and Rail Union’s Executive is expressing concerns that rural parts of Clare may lose access to Bus Éireann services.

The services from Dublin to Limerick, Cork and Galway will be cancelled from early next year, while the route from Dublin to Belfast will be suspended indefinitely.

An express service running from Galway to Limerick via Shannon Airport which ceased to operate during the summer will now not resume.

78 workers will be affected by the decision, however the semi-state company say staff will be redeployed.

NBRU Executive Member and Killaloe Fianna Fáil Counillor Tony O’Brien says services operating in rural communities are already limited.
