The Transport Minister has accepted an invitation to visit Bunratty Castle and see first-hand the opportunities there to bring in more visitors.
Clare’s Independent TD Dr Michael Harty issued the invitation in the Dáil, where he called on the state to take a more active role in supporting Shannon Heritage, which operates the castle and folk park.
Shannon Heritage, which is a company of the Shannon Group, is a commercial semi-state body, is responsible maintaining and promoting many historical sites in Clare.
