Move Back To School Dates To Accommodate Tourist Season Says West Clare Councillor

A West Clare councillor is calling for Ireland’s back-to-school dates to be moved, so that the tourism season is no longer cut short.

Cillian Murphy’s comments come as figures from the CSO have revealed a slight drop in the number of overseas visitors coming to Ireland last month, though overall figures are going in the right direction.

The numbers coming from North America dropped, while there was an increase in British visitors, but Councillor Murphy wants to see more focus on the domestic market.
