It’s hoped a new tourism product for Kilbaha will attract a new kind of visitor to the Loop Head Peninsula.

A grant of €100,000 under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme will see a new centre developed there, which will include an audio-visual immersive experience.

It will tell the story of the history of the Little Ark in the Church at Moneen, through the eyes of Fr Michael Meehan, who delivered Mass from the wooden portable ark in the 1850s, when Catholic sermons were outlawed.
