Plans Afoot For €76.5 Million Tourism Strategy For River Shannon

Plans are afoot for a major €76.5 million tourism masterplan for the River Shannon.

A public consultation into the 10-year strategy, which runs until 2030, has now opened and will remain open for submissions until April 22nd.

It aims to develop the river as a major tourism destination, thereby giving a boost to communities along its banks, many of which are in East Clare.

Scariff tourism provider Eoin O’Hagan, who is the director of Derg Boat Tours, says this will be a completed game changer for East Clare.
