Fresh Calls For Large-Scale Tourism Product On Site Of New County Burial Grounds

Fresh calls are being made for the planned new county burial grounds to be moved, to allow for a large-scale tourism product to be developed on the outskirts of Clarecastle.

As things stand, a 50-acre site at Ballaghafadda has been zoned for a dual purpose; half of it for a new cemetery and the other half for tourism.

Clarecastle Councillor Paul Murphy, however, wants the entire site to be used for a tourism development and says it would be the best use of the space.
