Clare Tourism Backs Calls For Removing 14-Day Quarantine Rule

Shannon Group and Clare Tourism representatives have lent their support to calls for the immediate lifting of travel restrictions, including the 14-day quarantine period.

It follows the publication of the interim report from the Aviation Taskforce, which has called on the Government to open the country to international travel by July 1st.

It’s also recommended that a code of practice for Safe Air Travel be finalised and implemented and that existing financial support measures, including the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme, be extended to support employment where possible.

Member of the Clare Tourism Steering Group and owner of Durty Nelly’s in Bunratty, Maurice Walsh says the taskforce recommendations must be implemented to salvage tourism in the county.
