Calls have been made for Clare’s new beach ambassador programme to include junior ambassadors.
Two officers will be employed by Clare County Council in both Kilkee and Lahinch for the entire summer from June and will be on hand five hours per day, seven days a week, as part of a pilot project.
Along with cleaning up litter and maintaining public amenities, they will engage with tourists and locals alike and answer any questions that may arise.
