Tourism Industry ‘Crucified’ By Lack Of Supports

The Chair of Loop Head Tourism has expressed grave concerns about the upcoming tourist season, saying his industry is being ‘crucified’.

Luke Aston is one of those who is criticising the Government’s revised Living With Covid Plan, for a lack of clarity in a number of areas, including what’s in store for the tourism and hospitality sector for the summer season.

He’s also criticised the commentary surrounding last summer, including the common refrain that it was a bumper year for domestic tourism, as he argues that his business is one of those who suffered loses.

Mr. Aston, who runs a sea angling charter business from Carrigaholt, also says many businesses like his simply aren’t getting the supports they need.
