A Shannon engineering company has scooped the top honours in the National Enterprise Awards.
Callon Technology, which employs 7 people, design and manufacture tailor made servo motors for other companies in the US India China Israel Italy and Germany
It was founded by engineers Joe O Donovan and Paul O’ Byrne eight years ago after the multinational Pacific Scientific in Ennis downsized and laid off over 100 staff

In 2007 Callon Technology had to lay off three staff as the company was hit by the start of the global recession; however it has experienced an upsurge in orders recently, is in negotiations with several big contracts and hopes to double its staff numbers in the coming years.
