Over three quarters of Clare’s vacant commercial properties have been left lying idle for more than three years.

The latest report from Geo Directory shows Clare’s long term vacancy rate is among the highest in the country, with the number of empty businesses dropping only marginally in the last quarter of 2017, compared to the same period in 2016.

Shannon has the highest vacancy rate in the county where a quarter of units are lying idle, followed by Kilrush on 24.7% and Ennis on 17.4%.
