Three Out Of Five Septic Tanks In Clare Fail To Meet Minimum Standards

Three out of five septic tanks in Clare are failing to meet minimum standards.

The latest report from the Environmental Protection Agency shows 41 inspections were carried out by Clare County Council last year, with 59% of septic tank systems failing, which is higher than the national average of 51%.

Since 2013, 133 systems in this county didn’t meet minimum standards which are set out to protect against a serious health risk.
