Three Clare Towns And Villages Honoured At Pride Of Place Awards

Three areas in Clare have been honoured at this year’s Pride of Place Awards.

Organised by Co-operation Ireland and sponsored by IPB Insurance, the awards see the country’s local authorities nominate outstanding projects that contribute to civic pride.

This year, Shannon Town lifted the best Urban Neighbourhood or Village with a population of over 5,000.

Judges said they arrived to an excellent welcome and presentation, which demonstrated the huge range of voluntary activities in this town, which highlighted its many amenities and exceptional level of volunteerism.

Spanish Point and Quin Village were runners up in their categories at the awards ceremony in Cork on Saturday.
