Three Clare Towns Set For New Mayors

Three new mayors are set to be elected across the county today.

Two West Clare local authority AGM’s are set to take place – kilrush and Kilkee will see the handover of mayoral chains to two new local representatives

Outgoing Mayor of Kilrush Fine Gael Councillor Liam Williams is expected to be succeeded by his fellow party member, Councillor Ian lynch, the current Deputy Mayor and a  member of the local authority since 2009.

While in neighbouring Kilkee, Councillor Elaine Haugh Hayes – also of Fine Gael – is set to take up the chains from Brian Keane .

Meanwhile the nine Ennis Town Councillors will vote on who they think should take up the chains from outgoing Mayor, Independent Councillor Tommy Brennan at their AGM.
