Initial Post Mortem On Ennis Man Rules Out Third Party Involvement

Gardaí say preliminary post mortem results on the body of a man found in Ennis earlier rule out third party involvement.

The man in his 40s was found by a passer-by at Gallow’s Hill near the Turnpike at around 10 o’clock this morning.

He died of a single stab wound to the chest though at this stage, no toxicology reports are available.

A post mortem examination has been carried out by the deputy state pathologist though the circumstances surrounding the death have yet to be determined.

Gardaí do not believe at this time that a third party was involved in the death, pending further results.

An investigation is continuing to establish what happened.
