Government “Must Be Prepared To Interrogate Eir” On Broadband Plan Proposal

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD insists the Government must be prepared to interrogate Eir on their latest Broadband proposal.

Timmy Dooley is commenting ahead of an Oireachtas Committee meeting this evening, during which, officials from the Department of Communications will face questions on the National Broadband Plan.

Telecoms firm Eir claims it can supply rural broadband for two billion euro less than the price quoted by the sole remaining bidder, the Granahan McCourt consortium.

Deputy Dooley, who is his party’s Communication’s Spokesperson, has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that a number of questions remain unanswered.
