TDs return to the Dáil this afternoon, after a shortened summer break.

The Taoiseach will take questions followed by a debate on Covid-19 legislation.

Today will include the nomination of a new Agriculture Minister to replace Dara Calleary, who stepped away from that role in light of the Golfgate controversy.

The Dáil wasn’t due to sit for another fortnight, but this date was brought forward by the government in the wake of that controversy, which will undoubtedly be raised by opposition leaders when they question Micheál Martin later this afternoon.
