The Taoiseach says religious groups should “measure up” to their responsibility for child abuse, and “get on with” paying their share of the bill.

Enda Kenny says he spoke to the Pope last year about the need to respond to certain abuse issues.

Yesterday the Health Minister Simon Harris called on the Pope to intervene in the current standoff about the cost of redress.
