Struggling Parents Urged To Reach Out For Help

The Clare branch of Saint Vincent de Paul is urging struggling parents not to wait until the pressure comes on to ask for help with back to school costs.

SVP is reporting a 20% rise in the number of calls they’re receiving from parents who are in need of financial help for this school term, up to around 6,000.

But so far in Clare, they are yet to see the traditional back to school spike – and the worry is that parents are trying to foot the bill themselves, despite being in dire straits.
