“Strong Case” For Removal Of Two Week Quarantine Rule Made By Aviation Task Force

Clare’s senator is optimistic that the Aviation Taskforce has made a strong case about the removal of the two-week quarantine requirement.

The Taskforce’s interim report has called on the Government to lift travel restrictions, including the 14-day quarantine rule, which is being examined by the Cabinet sub-committee on Covid-19 today.

Other recommendations include a code of practice for Safe Air Travel and that existing financial support measures, including the Temporary Wage Subsidy Scheme be extended to support employment.

It comes as Shannon Airport is preparing to resume scheduled passenger operations from this day next week.

Clare’s Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that there’s a delicate balancing act between protecting the aviation industry and public health.
