Strike Action ‘Inevitable’ If Government Doesn’t Put Forward Fair Proposals For Nurses

The INMO says strike action is “inevitable” at our hospitals, if the Government doesn’t put forward reasonable and fair proposals for nurses and midwives.

Nurses are to be ballotted for industrial action after 94% of union members voted to reject proposals aimed at addressing the recruitment and retention crisis among nurses.

The union’s Midwest Representative insists that industrial action can be avoided, if adequate proposals on pay for the nursing and midwifery professions are put forward.
