Gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour are expected across the country today, with a status yellow wind warning in place for Clare and 22 other counties.
A status orange alert is in effect for Donegal, Mayo and Galway until 3pm – with a risk of coastal flooding.
Motorists are being reminded to give pedestrians and cyclists more space on the roads during the adverse conditions.
