Spike In Overcrowding Level At UHL

Hospital trolleys

There’s been a spike in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital.

The latest INMO figures show 75 people were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 46 of those in the emergency department alone.

The overall figure is 26 more than the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 577 patients have been left waiting on trolleys at hospitals across the country.
