Sixmilebridge Rail Parking Charge Scrapped

 

 
It’s claimed the rising cost of fuel could motivate Clare commuters to travel by rail.

It comes as Clare County Council has scrapped the 2 euro a day parking charge at the Sixmilebridge rail stop – to attract more passengers to the station.

However a rise in passenger numbers in recent months has been attributed to higher fuel prices and it’s hoped free parking could incentive more people to travel by train

The Sixmilebridge stop forms part of the Western Rail Corridor and has been in operation for 12 months.

Independent local Councillor PJ Ryan feels rail travel makes more economic sense.
