Significant Rise In UHL Overcrowding Today

There has been a sharp rise in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.

The latest figures from the INMO show 46 people are waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 27 of those in the emergency department.

A further 19 patients are being accomodated in overflow areas of wards.

It means the Dooradoyle facility is once again the busiest in the country, followed closely by University Hospital Galway, where 44 people are waiting on admission.
