There’s been a significant drop in trolley numbers at the region’s main hospital today.

But figures from the INMO show University Hospital Limerick remains one of the most overcrowded in the country, with 34 patients left waiting for beds this morning, 18 of those in the emergency department.

The welcome reduction of just under two dozen on yesterday’s figure, comes on a day when 354 people have been left waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
