Significant Drop In Overcrowding At UHL But Midwest Facility Sill Busiest In Ireland

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has dropped significantly today.

The latest INMO figures show 42 patients were waiting for beds this morning at University Hospital Limerick, 30 of those in the Emergency Department

The overall figure has almost halved on yesterday’s figures, which prompted a call from the UL Hospitals Group for patients to consider all their care options before attending the ED.

The Dooradoyle facility remains the busiest in the country however, with a dozen more patients waiting to be admitted today than any other hospital in the country.
