Shock has been expressed over the doubling of the number of homeless people in Clare.
Clare County Council’s housing committee has heard that there has been a rise of 60 in the number of homeless people in the county in the past 12 months.
Last year, 59 people were placed in emergency accomodation such as B&Bs or hotels, sometimes for several months.
