Shannon Urged To Promote Status As Hub For European Airlines

Shannon Airport is being urged to promote its status as a hub for European routes travelling on to the US.

Fianna Fáil’s Pat McMahon has made the call in light of the growing number of transatlantic routes at the MidWest facility, as well as Shannon’s preclearance for US travel.

He feels that by marketing the airport in the right way, airlines travelling from Europe on to the US could have stopovers in Shannon to avail of this as well as boosting footfall in the West of Ireland.
