Shannon to get new councillor this evening

Shannon is to get a new town councillor from this evening.

Fine Gael member Vincent Coleman is to be co-opted onto Shannon Town Council, replacing Tony Mulcahy following his recent election to Seanad Eireann.

The 35 year old has lived in Shannon all his life, and currently works at Shannon Airport.

A new Mayor will also be elected, replacing the outgoing Senator Mulcahy – this is expected to be fellow Fine Gael representative Mary Brennan.
