Shannon firm Seeks To Mitigate Brexit Impact With Belfast Expansion

A Shannon-based aviation firm is creating 124 jobs in Belfast as it looks to “future-proof” itself against Brexit.

Eirtech Aviation Services, which was founded in 2009, provides a range of services to airlines and aircraft leasing companies.

It is now expanding into Northern Ireland, in a move which the company says will play a strategic role in its future.

The firm says it also considered other locations, including in the Republic of Ireland, for its move but said it was looking to mitigate the risk of being cut off from the UK after Brexit.
