The operators of a soon-to-open crematorium in Shannon expect that 2 or 3 funeral services a day will be conducted there.
The Shannon Crematorium is slated to open at the end of this month, and will become the first facility of its kind in the West of Ireland.
The 2.4 million euro development was also the subject of criticism from a number of local residents, though the developers insist they have received largely positive feedback during construction.
