In total, 378,331 passengers passed through Shannon Airport’s doors between July and September of 2019.

This is up from just over 369,000 in the same period of 2018, or a 2.5% increase, despite what’s been described as a difficult period for the airport.

However, the reliance on London remains evident, with Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airports accounting for 42% of all traffic at Shannon in that time, despite a marginal fall in passengers to those desintations compared to the previous year.

Heathrow is the most popular destination, with 37,000 passengers arriving and 38,000 departing Shannon for that airport.

New York JFK retains its spot as the second most popular airport, accounting for just shy of 53,000 passengers.

Also making the top ten are Boston Logan, Faro, Newark, Philadelphia, Malaga and Manchester.
