Ryanair is to pull three routes from Shannon Airport from January.

The airline is to pull flights to East Midlands, Bristol and Ibiza Airports – all of those have been operating twice weekly this summer, with East Midlands and Ibiza only added to the schedule this year.

Shannon Group Acting CEO Mary Considine has expressed disappointment at the decision, saying that now is a particularly challenging time for global aviation.

She describes Ryanair as a valued partner, and it will continue to operate 15 routes next year, carrying up to 775,000 passengers.

Ms Considine also says Shannon is also engaging with airlines to explore opportunities to attract new services.
