Shannon Airport ‘A Victim Of Government Travel Policy’ – Loop Head Tourism

The Chair of Loop Head Tourism believes Shannon Airport has become the victim of Government decisions on travel over the past number of months.

Luke Aston, who runs an angling charter service and guest house, says 90% of their business is traditionally from overseas visitors, but like many others in the sector here have witnessed n their turnover since the beginning of the pandemic.

Earlier this week, Ryanair announced that it’s to suspend all flights to and from Shannon for a six week period from next week, while Aer Lingus has said it’s too late to restore it’s Heathrow route before year end.
