Shannon Airport MD Confident Growth Is Going In Right Direction

Shannon Airport’s Managing Director insists that growth at the airport is going in the right direction, despite a turbulent week of news there.

Norwegian Air International revealed today that it’s to expand its New York route, meaning it’ll fly daily from October 28th.

But the airline recently announced that it’s to cut its Providence service this winter, while Aer Lingus is also expanding its New York routes while cutting its Boston one.

Overall, the number of transatlantic seats has risen significantly and Andrew Murphy has been telling Clare FM’s James Mulhall that this is down to the popularity of New York and that growth is continuing at the airport.
