Shannon Airport Begins Major Runway Upgrade

Overnight flights will not be able to land at Shannon for the next six months as upgrade works take place on the runway.

The 15 million euro project began this week and sees the creation of 100 jobs during construction.

The next 26 weeks will see the runway close from 11pm for overnight work to take place before clearing the way in time for the 6am departures.
