There have been seven convictions for sexual offences in Clare in the past decade.
While the majority of offences here would be be sent forward to the Circuit Court and the Central Criminal Court, they are on occasion dealt with at District Court level here.
Figures released to Clare FM via a Freedom of Information request show six of the convictions relate to sexual assault, with one relating to indecency in district courts in Ennis, Killaloe and Kilrush since 2010.

Two sexual assault convictions took place here last year, with one each in 2018 and 2019.
It comes after a recent Clare Joint Policing Committee meeting heard that sexual assault offences here were down by 15 percent in 2020.
