Sense Of Sadness Descends On East Clare Community Following Fatal Crash

It’s claimed a sense of sadness has descended on Meelick following a fatal road crash there yesterday.

Michael Harty, who’s in his twenties and understood to be from the Nenagh area, lost his life when his car collided with a tree near Woodcock Hill in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A 25-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, remains in a serious condition in hospital.

A Garda investigation is continuing and anyone in the area at the time, who may have witnessed the collision, are being asked to contact Mayorstone Garda Station on 061 456 980.
