Senator Says Change In Approach Needed To Tackle Drug Use In Ennistymon

Clare’s Senator feels a change in approach is needed to tackle the issue of drug use in the county.

Martin Conway’s comments come as listeners to Clare FM’s Morning Focus have been expressing their concern about the widespread use of drugs, in particular in Ennistymon but also in other parts of the county.

There have been reports of drug dealing and in some instances drug taking on the streets in these areas in broad daylight with residents expressing grave concerns about these practices.

Senator Conway says the decriminalisation of soft drugs is something that must be considered.
