A search and rescue operation has been launched in Galway following reports of a person entering the River Corrib.
Emergency services were alerted around half past nine this morning to the incendent at the Quincentenery Bridge.
The Shannon-based Irish Coastguard Helicopter, Rescue 115 has been dispatched to aid Gardaí and Fire Personnel in the search.
