Seanad hears calls for Clare Steiner school recognition

The Seanad has heard calls for a North Clare primary school to be given permanent recognition by the Department of Education.

126 pupils attend the Mol an Oige Steiner school in Ennistymon, which opened in 2005 and is one of the largest schools of it’s kind in Ireland.  Despite this, it has only received temporary recognition from the Department to date.

North Clare Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway says teachers and parents at the school are frustrated at the lack of progress on the issue, and has called on the Education Minister to address their concerns.
