€20,000 in Government funding has been allocated towards urgent safety works at a notorious roads blackspot in West Clare.
In a parliamentary question to the Transport Minister, Clare’s Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has highlighted Cree Bridge on the R458 as being extremely dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists.
Clare County Council submitted an application for Low Cost Safety funding to the Department of Transport and the funding has now been granted for the installation of a yield system, new warning signage and the widening of the footpath.
