The death has taken place of the former RTÉ presenter Brian Farrell, aged 85.
The current affairs broadcaster is best known for his work on Frontline in the late 1970s, also Today Tonight and Prime Time.

Outside of broadcasting Brian taught for many years in the Department of Politics, UCD and was a Emeritus Professor of Politics.
Brian Farrell is survived by his wife Marie-Thérèse, and his seven children.
