Roads, Litter key talking Points In Council Survey

The condition of Clare’s roads and the levels of litter in the county have been criticised in a survey carried out by the County Council.

However, the poll has shown that by-and-large most people are satisfied with levels of service supplied by the local authority.

700 people took part in Clare County Council’s Customer Satisfaction Survey, the results of which have been published this week.

Overall, respondants showed a high level of satisfaction in many areas, including correspondance with the council, the level of information on it’s website and with housing, fire control and motor tax services.

However, customers showed disappointment in a number of other areas.

More than half criticised the condition of the county’s roads, while over more than two-in five said they were dis-satisfied with levels of illegal dumping and litter prevention.

The survey also showed that over 90% of respondants have never attended a meeting of Clare County council.
