Gardaí will be out in force on Clare roads in both marked and unmarked cars as part of the June Bank Holiday Road safety campaign.

They’ll be on the look out for inappropriate speed, faulty tyres and the use of seatbelts, which are some of the greatest contributory factors to road deaths and serious injuries.

Drivers are also being reminded that in addition to mandatory breath testing for alcohol, they’ll also be testing for the presence of illegal drugs.
