Road and Water Problems Despite Thaw

 

Gardai and Met Eireann are warning motorists that the cold snap isn’t over yet, as road conditions are still extremely hazardous in some areas.

Though many areas have improved following an overnight thaw, Roads in North Clare as well as the South East of the County are still causing problems.

 

Gardai in Ennistymon say the Corofin to Ennistymon Road is still closed and they’re asking people not to use the Corofin to Gort road due to treacherous conditions which have also been reported around Carron

 

Gardai in Killaloe say there are many problem areas remaining around Truag, the Bridgetown to Broadford Road and minor roads in East Clare.

 

Local are also reporting problems in particular around Flagmount, Feakle and Scarriff as well as between Sixmilebridge and Clonlara

Due to a number of burst water mains near Kilkee, the following areas are without water supply – Loop Head Peninsula, Carrigaholt and Doonaha

 

Clare County Council is carrying out repairs but supply will not be restored until 4 o’clock this evening (Tuesday)

 

 

The Kilmaley Inagh Group water scheme is asking residents to check their water connections and not to leave their taps on to prevent freezing…

 

The system is coming under increased demand due to the cold snap and it’s affecting customers in Inagh, Kilmaley, Inch and Kilnamona.
