Rise In Air Traffic At Shannon Airport

Air Traffic at Shannon Airport has taken off in the past month.

There was a 7.7% rise in the number of flights handled safely by air traffic controllers in February compared to the same time last year.

The Irish Aviation Authority has confirmed that it was the only one of the three main airports to experience growth, with commercial flights down by 6% in Cork and less than 1% in Dublin.

Nationally, there were 194 aircraft delayed during the month of February

Of these, 7.2% were related to weather conditions.
