The Clare-based chairperson of the region’s health forum says a new report on care standards highlights the need for ongoing monitoring.

It comes as a new survey for HIQA found the standard of care in our hospitals and nursing homes isn’t up to scratch.

Almost two thirds of people in Ireland told pollsters they’d witnessed sub-standard health and social care services.
